The attention of the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA) Nigeria, under the leadership of Falilat Oluwatoyin Orire as the duly elected Nigeria Country Representative, has been drawn to a recent “Disclaimer” circulating online regarding the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA) International Inc. International Conference 2025.
We wish to categorically state as follows:

3. The leadership and identity of AWLA Nigeria Chapter are clearly established in accordance with our constitution, and we urge members, partners, and the general public to disregard any conflicting narratives intended to mislead or cause division within the Association.
4. Official communication on conferences, programmes, and activities of AWLA Nigeria Chapter will continue to be issued directly through our duly constituted national leadership and recognized communication channels.
We reaffirm our commitment to unity, professionalism, and advancing the cause of women in law across Nigeria and the African continent.
